Worked Solutions to the 2024 HSC Mathematics Extension 1 Exam

I have completed my worked solutions to the 2024 HSC Mathematics Extension 1 exam and will make the video walkthrough soon!

Thoughts on this year’s exam (link to the solutions is at the bottom of the post):

I found this year’s exam to once again be pretty approachable for Extension 1 students. I enjoyed the more novel questions and didn’t find any of the questions particularly awful.

My personal favourite question was Question 14(a), partly because I like differential equations, but also because I felt the question was relatively unique, bringing in the consideration of the function’s domain and range, and it made you think a bit.

My personal least favourite question was Question 13(d), because even though I normally enjoy integration, I initially mistook the 8 in the denominator for a 4, so I initially got it wrong and then got caught up trying to think how I’d approach it properly. That’s more my fault of course, not the question’s!

How did you all go with this exam? Which questions did you find the most difficult or interesting? Drop a comment or email me and let me know!
