Rates and Available Hours

Below you will find our tutoring hours and rates for our services. If you are looking for a session time or rate that is not listed here, feel free to get in touch!

Walk-in and Phone Hours

While tutoring is available by appointment only, you can come to our office to make enquiries Monday through Friday from 3 pm to 7 pm.

We are available by phone Monday through Friday from 10 am to 7 pm. If you call outside these hours, you can leave a voicemail or send us a text message and we’ll get back to you the next business day.

Rates

In line with our values to provide access to education support to the community, we try to keep our rates as affordable as we can. You will find our current rates below. Note that weekly bookings permit our lowest rates, and to help make things more affordable for families who book multiple sessions or longer sessions, the cost per week is calculated based on total time booked weekly by the family (not as individual sessions). the overall rate becomes cheaper the more time is booked each week (when dividing the total weekly cost over the number of hours booked weekly).

Academic Tutoring

Tutoring starts at $40 for the first thirty minutes booked per week. Each additional 30 minutes booked per week is $25.

Tutoring for Year 11 or 12 is an additional $6 per hour, prorated to the nearest 15 minutes.

Tutoring for University level is an additional $12 per hour, prorated to the nearest 15 minutes.

As bookings can be 30, 45, 60, 90, or 120 minutes, the cost for additional time after the first 30 minutes is prorated to the nearest 15 minutes.

Bookings on weekends (Saturday or Sunday) are billed at additional $6 per hour, prorated to the nearest 15 minutes.

Examples of costs for total time booked per week if booking only one type of tutoring are shown below.

If booking different types of tutoring, the first 30 minutes per week is charged at the lowest applicable rate, and all additional time weekly is billed at $25 per 30 minutes for K-10, $28 per 30 minutes for 11-12, or $31 per 30 minutes for Uni, always prorated to the nearest 15 minutes.

Language Tutoring

Service fee – there is a $10 per week service fee for weekly and fortnightly bookings. This fee is charged once per family (not per student). This amount was previously part of our weekly rates, but we have separated it from our hourly rates to help make tutoring more affordable for those families booking longer sessions or booking multiple sessions weekly.

School Holiday Tutoring and Programs

Tutoring is optional during the school holidays. You will not be charged unless you make a booking.

We remain open and available for tutoring over the school holiday periods, except for the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s. Tutoring is charged at the above rates but is more affordable as the weekly/fortnightly service fee is waived.

Fees and Surcharges

We have the following surcharges:

• Third-party Billing Fee – $12 per week is charged when a third party is responsible for payment (this includes DVA, DCJ, and scholarship programs)
• Fortnightly Billing Fee – $12 per fortnight is charged when reserving and attending sessions on a fortnightly basis
• Casual Booking Fee – $12 booking fee for casual bookings if the student does not already have a weekly or fortnightly booking.
• Holding Fee – $12 per hour being held. This applies to retain a reserved tutoring time without attendance, such as holding a place during periods of extended absence. This fee is charged in place of any standard tutoring fees during the applicable period.
• Late Payments Fee – $6 per reserved tutoring hour. Late fees apply immediately once a payment is considered late, in accordance with this contract. A “reserved tutoring hour” is calculated based on the total weekly booked session time, rounded to the nearest 15-minute increment, and converted to hours. There is a cap of 50% of the original invoice value for accruing late fees.

We have no other fees or charges other than those listed above. We do not charge an enrolment or term fee.

How to Pay

Payments can be made on a weekly basis. You do not need to pay for a block or term in advance. We use automated card payments handled by Square. These payments are processed on the first day of the week on which tutoring has been booked. We also accept direct deposit, cash, or card, but there is a $2 processing fee for each payment. Avoid this fee by enrolling for automatic payments. For more information about payments, see our FAQ.
