Music Tutoring

We tutor acoustic and electric guitar for everyone from absolute beginners to intermediate and advanced students. You can learn to play your favourite songs, as well as techniques to improve your skills. Some of the techniques we can cover include the following:

• Beginner techniques, including strumming, rhythm, melody, open chords, power chords, simple riffs, sight reading.
• Intermediate techniques, including finger picking, syncopation, solo techniques, bar chords, legatos, music theory, chord voicing, shredding, circle of fifths, CAGED system, improvisation.
• Advanced techniques, including speed picking, sweep picking, hybrid picking, advanced shredding, double-handed tapping, extended chords, solo composition, harmonisation, advanced improvisation.

We teach four-, five-, and six- string bass for everyone from beginner to advanced. Learn the bass lines to your favourite songs, as well as techniques to improve your skills. Some of the techniques we cover include rest strokes, free strokes, picking, slap, tapping, syncopated grooves, note memorisation, run and fill construction, harmonic understanding, sight reading, rhythm, grooves.

We tutor ukulele for students of all ages. Learn to play your favourite songs as well as techniques to improve your skills.

We can tutor students in music theory, including for school courses, HSC, and university. Music theory can also be incorporated into instrument lessons for students who are interested in learning how to write music.

Lessons can cover everything including basic sight reading, developing relative pitch, understanding harmony, and understanding and applying modes.

We can assist students who are learning to compose their own music. Students can learn how to write for most genres, and anything as simple as three-chord songs to orchestral compositions.

We can assist students who would like to learn how to master their own audio tracks. The basics of mastering can be covered so that students are able to master their tracks for streaming services, as well as audio cleaning and repairing.
