Term 2 has kicked off in full now that the storms have passed and things are getting back to normal on the Central Coast. The holidays were a great opportunity for a few of our students to get some extra tutoring time in to cover revision topics they needed help with. Feeling comfortable with foundational topics can really give students the extra confidence they need in approaching new topics covered in their classes.
NAPLAN is only a few weeks away, with the Numeracy portion taking place on Thursday, May 14, 2015. I will be going over practice questions with my students in years 3, 5, 7, and 9. Despite controversy over standardized testing, NAPLAN Numeracy style questions are good practice at problem solving, thinking outside the box, using logic, and applying mathematics skills.
Anyone considering getting themselves (or their child) maths help should do so soon. Half-yearly tests are likely approaching, and the school year will be flying by with classes in full-gear. Don’t wait until it’s too late and stress levels are high, get the extra help you need now to get caught up and stay on-task with your studies.
