I worked everything out by hand, just as you would have to do sitting the exam, but I’ve also verified the results for all questions involving calculations (calculus and trigonometry-type questions) on Wolfram-Alpha, just to be sure they are correct.

Dying to know if you got the answers right on the 2016 HSC Mathematics General 2 examination? The test has been posted online, but the official answers are not yet available. So I have gone through and answered all the questions on the test, just for you! (Except for 28b, as the graphic hasn’t been published yet.) I included some working out and notes, but full working out on every question may not be included.

Congrats to year 12 students who are graduating this week! Now that class is over, it’s time to prepare for your HSC exams that are coming up in October. I recently listened to the audio book version of Alex Bellos’ Alex’s Adventures in Numberland. I found it absolutely fascinating and plan on listening to it or reading it again (I’d love to get a hard copy). Alex gives depth and colour to the world of mathematics by exploring its history and use in differing cultures all over the world.
